Ab Machines Are Not The Answer

By Jose Loni

So you want to have six pack abs? Well, ab machines are not the answer. Abdominal machines are able to strengthen the abdominals but they are not the answer. Training with resistance, watching your diet and lowering stress in your life are key to help you get six pack abs.

Doing resistance-training increases the bodys metabolism resulting in increased muscle mass. Excess body fat is consequently used to fuel the resulting increase in muscle activity.

Interval training exercises have a way of affecting the bodys metabolism. The exercises anaerobic method allows the body to increase its metabolism by making the body adapt to the increased demands of the training. The increased activity causes the muscles to burn more fat. The body then utilizes the excess body fat to fuel its activity. In addition, fat burning continues well after the exercise session to provide more fuel to the muscles.

To get ripped abs, we have to watch what we eat. We should keep a balanced diet and avoid fast food, fatty food, sodas and processed foods. In watching what we eat, we can better control our caloric intake.

Consuming lean protein and complex carbohydrates allows our body to utilize those calories with greater efficiency and increase fat burning. Also by cutting out sugar snacks, fatty foods, fast foods and carbonated beverages we are better able to control the calories that we eat and keep our body from converting the extra calories that we consume into fat.

Exercises that involve resistance training and interval training has shown to burn excess fat by increasing the body's metabolism. The increased metabolic activity burns the excess fat in the abdomen and makes the underlying abs more visible.

The increased muscle mass that results from resistance and interval training will kick start our body to become efficient at fat burning and utilize any excess body fat that we have to fuel our activities.

Ab machines do not work for your abs functionally. Ab machines can cause injury and cause imbalances in our muscles, which can lead to further injury. If we want to get ripped abs, we must make changes in our nutrition and increase our metabolism. - 15343
