Your home should only have green tea because it is the healthiest drink to have around. There may be a lot of hype about the benefits of green tea but these are all pretty justified because in truth, green tea is very healthy. In fact, green tea is probably one of the health secrets of the ancient Japanese. Now, studies revealed that green tea is also great for weight loss and not only health alone.

Nowadays, when we talk about green tea, people think about its weight loss benefits. So, the link between green tea and weight loss is pretty much common knowledge by now. So much so that a lot of weight loss programs and diets include green tea as one of the must have drink. Drinking green tea is always a better choice compared to any other drink if you don't only want to drink water.

The reason for green tea's growing popularity is due to its anti-oxidant nutrients that also double up as fat fighting agents. It is now common to drink green tea for weight loss because it is easy and hassle free. Also, if you tire of the plain green tea, there are also flavored ones you could try out. Here are three main reasons why you should be adding green tea to your diet:

1. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition have concluded that green tea extract could improve your metabolic rate by 4%. This means green tea could increase your metabolism, all thanks to its catechin polyphenols.

2.Green tea blocks fat by regulating your blood glucose level. The same catechin also work to stop fat being absorbed by your body by slowing down the increase in blood sugar level after a meal, reduce insulin spikes and this work to reduce fat absorption.

3. Green tea is an appetite suppressant. Since it regulates your blood sugar level, thus it also control your sugar cravings and controls your appetite. When you have less sugar cravings, you will feel less inclined to binge on high fat and sugary food. Your appetite will also be lesser and you may even eat less during mealtimes which will reduce your calorie intake and thus, help you lose weight. - 15343
