Dips are one of the best exercises a beginner can do. They will primarily work your triceps, but also your shoulders and chest too. In order to place the stress on your triceps there are a few tips you need to know. First off, dips should be done between two bars that are parallel. The starting position should look like you are standing up with two bars in your hands.

You need to hold the bars tightly so you won't slip. To start, you have to squat with your arms against your sides and your torso as erect as you can hold it. Leaning forward can concentrate stress on your shoulder and chest muscles, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you should save it for when you're exercising your chest muscles.

It is better not to lock out at the top. You will alleviate stress on your triceps if you straighten your arms. Use an assisted dip machine to counter-balance your weight if you have trouble doing dips. If your gym doesn't have one, get a spotter to push up on your feet to help you out. When you first begin, try getting in three sets of ten repetitions by yourself.

Close grip bench press is another movement like dips, in that it is a compound movement. The movement is similar to regular bench press. You need to grip the bar about 8 to 12 inches apart. Grip where you feel comfortable, paying close attention to how your wrists feel. Usually the closer you grip, the more stress there will be on your wrists, so start off more toward a 12 inch spacing and work your way closer as you get more comfortable.

As you lower the bar to your chest, be sure to keep your elbows close to your sides. The bar should end up just below your nipples. Full extension of the arms is not necessary. A good time to stop is just short of the full lockout. If you want to bulk up your triceps, this is a fantastic way to do it.

Weight Training Routines, How to Get Huge Biceps

Besides the chest muscles, the arms might be one of the most popular parts of the body trained at today's gyms. Most guys will work them to death because they want the sleeves of their shirts to fit a little tighter. I recommend you use a mirror to make sure wrists, elbows and shoulders are always properly positioned in a straight line through out the move.

A great was to start is with the bar full extended then raise the bar up to your chin by curling your arms up but keep your elbows still. To reach maximum contraction, flex your biceps at the peak of the movement. You must keep your wrist locked all the time otherwise if you let your wrist bend, this can easily hurt you. This is the main exercise for building mass in the biceps. Put this exercise at the beginning of your routine, using heavy weights. Its best to always warm up with a lightweight for one or two sets before going heavy.

I recommend doing Alternate Standing Dumbbell Curls second because you can still use heavy weight. This exercise will really add to the rounded shape that you want in your biceps.

The same motion is used as in bar curls but one slight variation. At the top of the movement twist your hand so that your pinky moves up a little higher than your thumb. Try practicing it with no resistance. This is what will give you that extra peak that all the pros have. Its hard to do, but it will add that extra edge to your guns that your friends don't have.

If you really want to isolate the muscles in your arms and give them a real workout, try the Preacher Bench Curls with an EZ-Bar. You will notice you aren"t as strong as you would like to be in this exercise if you are isolating your biceps. If the first two sets of reps have been completed properly, you will feel muscle fatigue.

Position yourself with your chest against the bench and drape your arms over the angled pad. Grab the EZ curl bar with an underhand grip. Curl the weight up and contract your biceps as hard as you can. Lower slowly, being careful not to let the bar stress your elbows at the bottom of the movement. This exercise will place added stress on your lower biceps area.

4. Repeat this action 100 times daily.

Four Ways To Control Your Waistline, Ladies!

So you want a nice abdominal profile? Don't worry ladies! Here are some simple and effective techniques that'll help you get that great shape you've always wanted!

To get the most benefit from these great exercises you'll have to understand a bit of physiology first! The abdomen gets it shape, that is, taut or flabby, from a triple-layer of muscles: the rectus abdominis (on the surface), the obliques (in the middle), and the transversis abdominis (innermost).

The abdominal muscles act in concert with the muscles of the pelvic floor. Therefore when you exercise one set of muscles, the other set gets exercised too! Having a baby generally weakens the abdominal muscles as well as the muscles of the pelvic floor. This typically leads to post-delivery flab. Kegel exercises are recommended to control the waistline. However a number of people do not do them properly and so they do not get the expected results.

The lesson in physiology being over, let's get started on these real simple, effective and safe set of four exercises.

Abdominal Respiration

The object of this exercise is to work the abdominal muscles by simply breathing! That's right! Take a nice comfortably deep breath! But, use abdominal breathing. Meaning, consciously focus on your diaphragm and force it downwards. Do not move your ribcage outwards, or your shoulders upwards. Hold the breath in your lungs for a long moment, then let it out again, normally. When you feel that all the breath is out of your lungs, bear down on your abdominal muscles to push the diaphragm upwards into the lungs, forcing all the residual air out of your lungs. Remember, neither the ribcage nor the shoulders must move! Do this as part of your routine.

Advanced Breath Exercise

Lie on the floor, flat on your back. Hold the back of your legs, bend your elbows outwards. You can only use the abdominal muscles, the muscles of the pelvic floor and the diaphragm in this exercise. Breathe in as before. When you exhale, try to draw in the abdominal muscles downwards as if attempting to make them touch the spine.

Forward Curls

Lie flat on your back. Use your abdominal muscles to come up into a curved position, curling yourself forward. Take care not to use any other muscle as you do this crunch. Repeat this as many times as you can without discomfort. Stop whenever you feel discomfort. If you think that your muscles can't take the stress, then go back to the breath exercises to build up your muscle tone first.

Side Jacks

Lie on your right side. Keep your body straight and stiff from head to foot. Use your right elbow to push your body up off the floor. Your right forearm should be lying on the floor. Make sure that your body is in a straight line, at an angle to the floor. This is a must! Hold the position for ten to fifteen seconds. Now repeat the exercise, lying on your left side.

These 4 simple exercises are all it takes to get your belly into shape. Beats doing hundreds of sit-ups! Consistency is the secret to success! Now get yourself into that pair of jeans! - 15343
