Burn the Baby Fat - The Diets to Avoid

By Teresa Brown

Eating is something we have to do everyday of our lives. The how, when and what you eat are intimately related with your lifestyle. Obviously, we can't exist on cabbage soup or remove carbohydrates or fats from our diets for the rest of our lives. As a result, we eventually stop the diet and gain back the weight lost and then some. It's no surprise then that despite all these diets that claim to have the answer to burn the baby fat, that there still is a growing number of moms struggling with a weight problem today.

We are advised to have a balanced nutrition, but because the typical mom is so busy she may develop bad eating habits or choose to eat foods that are convenient but unfortunately, high sugar, fat and salt and low in essential nutrients. It makes sense that busy moms often choose to diet to burn their baby fat in order to do it as quickly and easily as possible. Diets work temporarily at a cost to your self-esteem, morale, health, and pocketbook.

No Food Diet

Eating to live is easier said than done because most of us live to eat and that usually results in us packing on the pounds. The fact that we have to eat to live tells us that our bodies are "wired" to receive food on a regular basis and not the opposite. Because of this, when you literally starve yourself on an extremely low-calorie diet, your body's "energy conservation" strategy kicks into effect by reducing your metabolism to hold onto your baby fat instead of burning it.

Your metabolism slows down because it is your body's way of conserving what energy it has to keep you alive and kicking. Once you start eating again, you will gain back more than what you lost because as your metabolism gradually makes the switch back to normal, it continues operating in the conservation mode. What you should be doing to burn the baby fat is to eat a reduced-calorie nutritionally balanced diet.

Celebrity Diets

From South Beach to Beverly Hills and from cookies to syrup and water, fad diets are alive and well in our diet obsessed society. Fad diets are based on the idea that some kind of secret ingredient makes fast weight loss possible and that you only need to stick to the plan for some time and everything will be fine.

We all know that a fad diet is something we can't do indefinitely but we do so only to burn the baby fat as fast as possible. Celeb moms who resort to the "Beverly Hills type" diets risk their health for their careers and why should you do the same just to fit into your skinny jeans? You are a mother which is has more value than a career or skinny jeans.

Nature's Food

Why waste your time, money, health and sanity to burn the baby fat with a diet program or pill only to gain back more pounds than you started with? You'll end up heavier than before and be the more discouraged, frustrated and miserable for it. Studies show that losing one to two pounds per week increases a person's success at keeping it off permanently. It's all about living a healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Ditch the diet. Choose life by striving to live a healthy lifestyle. - 15343
