Follow tradition, get the groom a gift!

By Marilyn Andersen

Your wedding day is one that you will not forget. It is traditional that the bride and groom buy each other gifts as a way of celebrating the beginning of their new life together. However, women often like gifts that shimmer and shine. Men on the other hand generally prefer a gift that is more practical and that they will be able to use on a regular basis. So this leaves the question of what to buy your groom for that special day.

Now you may be feeling pressure to find the perfect present. Don't worry though, it's easier than you think. For example, if your husband loves music and loves to run, an ipod with embossed holder will be something he'll get a lot of mileage out of (bad pun I know). It's well known that athletes that work out to music work out harder and longer. And not only will he be healthy, he'll be easy on the eyes to look at too!

Cuff-links, like owning your own tuxedo isn't something that gets used everyday but sure are handy to have when you need them. And better yet, you don't outgrow cuff-links just because you've put on a few pounds over the years. Give him cuff-links for use on your big day and he'll think of your wedding day every time he wears them.

If your groom likes to cook, then a great wedding gift would be a grill set. Although this may not seem like a traditional wedding gift, it is sure to be a hit with your soon to be husband. He will enjoy receiving a gift that he can use on a regular basis.

Sometimes you want a more traditional approach in a groom's gift. In that case, don't overlook a nice watch. There are so many to choose from in terms of style and price that you really can't miss. If you go with a high end watch from a specialty shop, consider getting a secret message engraved on the back.

Wedding gifts are a great way to celebrate a new life together. However, gifts can often seem run of the mill and ordinary. One way you can make any gift unique is to have it personalized. Many online retailers will personalize the gift for no additional charge. And in most cases, you can receive the gift within a week to ten days.

You'll get many good ideas just by thinking of all your fiance's favorite activities. Select a present that has utility for his lifestyle and he'll love it for sure. Regardless of what you end up giving your groom, he'll appreciate that you thought about him. - 15343
