Will Stretching Exercises Really Make You Taller?

By Rodney Williams

We know how easy it is to be sceptical of much of what you hear online. Wild claims and broken promises litter the internet like candy from a busted pinata. You may have heard about these claims before and thought they were nothing but nonsense.

Though it's hard to believe, it is actually true, and we have methods you can test yourself detailed below to prove it. Stretching can and will increase the length of the targeted area, and when targeting the proper areas, increase height.

Take for instance, pitchers in major league baseball. Years of hurling baseballs at great velocity has stretched out the throwing arm of the majority of major league pitchers to the point where they're 1-2 inches longer than their non-throwing arm on average.

In fact, most humans with a dominant arm will find that arm to be an inch longer than their other arm, through the simple additional stretching that the dominant arm endures through everyday use. You can go ahead and measure the length of your own arms right now. Don't be surprised in the least if your dominant arm is at least slightly longer than your other arm.

Now having longer arms of course is not helpful as far as height gain goes, or for much else for that matter, unless you're a boxer. For height gain, we need to target two key areas, the legs and the spine.

Targeting the spine with stretching exercises strengthens the discs in your back, and increases the length of space between the many vertebrae in the spine, increasing height.

Now comes another test to demonstrate this. Through your daily routine, whatever it may be, the forces of gravity are constantly at work on your body, and this is most noticeable in your spine, which actually compresses from this pressure throughout the day, and decompresses while you sleep.

Just before you go to bed tonight, go ahead and measure yourself, and then do so immediately upon waking. You will almost certainly be at least an inch taller in the morning than you were the night before. By strengthening and stretching the spine, you can see the kinds of effects you see in the morning on a permanent basis.

Hopefully you've enjoyed these tasks, which are proof positive that the proper stretching exercises can result in a permanent increase in height, no witch doctors necessary. - 15343
