Male Laser Hair Removal

By Fiona Fidelis

When it comes to hair removal for men, the standard used to be shaving cream and a razor. Laser hair removal, in Atlanta especially, once just a service for women, is quickly becoming the norm for plenty of men everywhere. Its not a complicated procedure, and is quick and ideal for anyone who wants a permanent solution to any body hair.

Laser hair removal treatment does exactly what the name suggests: a laser beam prevents hair from growing again. It does this by emitting an invisible light which penetrates your skin, and is absorbed by the hair follicle. The follicle is damaged as a result, and is no longer able to grow more hair.

Usually a laser hair removal session is quite quick. A single session lasts no longer than an hour, but it greatly depends on the size of the area being treated. A larger area can take up to 50 minutes while facial hair might take as little as 5 minutes. The larger the area, however, the more sessions youll need to attend in order to completely prevent the hair from growing back. After youve completed your sessions though, youll only have smooth skin left over.

Unfortunately multiple sessions are one of the downsides of laser hair removal. While the sessions are quick, they can also be expensive. Just 5 sessions might set you back a few hundred dollars. However since laser hair removal is becoming more popular, the procedure is becoming more and more affordable. Check your local listings for various clinics " youll probably find some competitive prices.

Keep in mind some of the risks of laser hair removal treatment before going through with it. Some of the side effects include white patches on the skin; people with tanned or darker skin are more prone to this than those with lighter skin, but it can affect anyone. These are minimal risks, though, and some people may deem it worth the risk. What is the reward? Permanently smooth skin. - 15343
