The Wave vs T-Bow - Home Exercise Equipment Head To Head

By Carol J Bartram

I've had a T-Bow for a while. In fact, I've got 16 of them! They are stacked in the garage and are forever in my way when I want to get into the freezer. Every six weeks or so, I haul them all to class and teach Pilates using them. They are absolutely great! Not only that, I also do my home exercise on a T-Bow - it takes up little space in the house, can be set up in the blink of an eye and is stacked neatly against the wall when I've finished my workout.

Now the T-Bow has a rival - drum roll please - the Firms Wave has arrived!

The Wave is much like the T-Bow in many respects although it does have a slightly different shape. The T-Bow is made in Switzerland and the Wave is produced in the USA.

What are the differences between the Wave and T-Bow?

1. Unlike the T-Bow which is constructed into a single piece of high density material the Wave has a brace to help give it strength. Both are similar in size and shape although the T-Bow is less bulky and is easier to handle. Because of the the Waves supporting brace they will not stack. The T-Bow will easily stack 15-20 units high.

2. There is one hell of a price difference! The WAVE costs just under $100, the T - Bow twice that. And it's quite difficult to get hold of a T - Bow at present in the US.

3. With the Wave you get a stack of extras included in the price. A wall chart showing you the basic moves, several DVD's which take you through basic to advanced exercises (Cardio, Strength and Fat Blasting). The T-Bow by comparison only comes with a wall chart and a small booklet.

4. The Wave and T-Bow can both be used with elastic exercise bands although neither comes supplied with any. This is not a problem as they only cost a few dollars and are readily available. Don't buy specialised bands as they are not necessary.

Both of these pieces of equipment are excellent and if used as part of your workout will have the desired fat burning and muscle toning benefits. If you teach classes then the T-Bow gets my vote as they are easier to store. For the home user though I recommend the Wave. It will get the job done and is much better value for money. - 15343
