If you have ever seen a diamond before, will have a good idea why it is so expensive as a jewel. If you have touched one before, you never again want to let it go. If you have the money to afford a diamond ring, I know you'll want one on your finger.

I know your wife loves you and all, but diamonds are indeed a girl's best friend. If you really want to make her day, buy her a stud for your next wedding anniversary. She'll love you more than you ever can imagine. Diamond jewelries are indeed real beauties to behold and to possess.

With a diamond, you know where you stand. I mean, you can't duplicate the thing, so you know that when you hold it, it is the true thing. No other stone can boast of such perpetuity. So diamond costs the most. How do you like that?

It is not easy, looking at any diamond, to imagine them as being typically billions of years old. But that exactly is what they are. They have been buried in the earth forever, but now they are free, more beautiful than you could imagine. Picture one against the warmth of your flesh; now don't you just feel like royalty?

Few people know that about half of a natural diamond's size is lost in diamond cutting. First, the stone is cleaved and sawed through cracks and cleavages, before the laser is used on them. You can hardly destroy the stone, but you can damage the pattern you are trying to create if you are not careful..

The best things in life are free, some say. And in a sense they are, until one man gets to it and puts a price upon it. Diamonds are free for whoever finds them first, and then they cost a fortune, prize for the highest bidder.

Volcanism brings substances from the bowels of the earth to the surface. It is how diamonds travel from where they are made, close to the earth's core for ages, up to where we can mine them, and convert them into the jewels that we cherish so much.

During the rapid ascent of molten magma to Earth's surface, they bring up diamonds that have already been formed in the earth by ages of temperature and pressure. They harden when they settle on the surface, and that is why we sometimes have to mine for the jewel. But it is well worth it, if only to possess the priceless gems.

The ages of some diamonds can be as much as 2 or 3 billion years. It is possible to tell this by dating some mineral impurities that could have been trapped within the diamonds as they are brought to the surface of the earth. But who thinks these things when they wear the stones on their fingers? Who can? You are so caught up in its beauty! - 15343
